About Blogsvertise

Written by admin

Blogsvertise is a site where bloggers can write about blogs, sites and services for other bloggers for a fee.In order for your blog to get approved, you write a blog post about Blogsvertise of around 100 words or so and submit your blog in order to be accepted for doing tasks for other advertisers.

First of all, you sign up,write your post about Blogsvertise and wait to be approved. It takes about 24 hours for them to approve you blog or not. They don’t accept wordpress.com blogs. It seems that self hosted ones are preferred and it would be a complete surprise if my wordpress.org blog got accepted.Wish me luck.

You get paid via Paypal and you can accept or not accept tasks that appear in your dashboard when you log in.Myself, I would not insert a slogan underneath saying,”Sponsored by Such And Such” because you will  get penalized by Google for doing that, and this affects your page rank.So to be on the safe side, just write the post, do the task and play it safe with your tags.

How Many Keywords Can I SEO Per Web Page? | SEO White Hats

Written by Jo

SEO Best Practices often refer to the rule of optimizing for “One Keyword Phrase Per Page” and this is very good advice. This rule first applies to the most important on-page ranking factor - the of the page. If you are optimizing for “Valentines Gifts”, your page title should start with <TITLE>Valentines Gifts - Cupids Shop” or even better would be Valentines Gifts - Best Gifts for Valentines Day - Cupids Shop.

This second title is optimized for both ‘Valentines Gifts’ as well as ‘Gifts for Valentines’. With our available space of 65 characters, this title is also optimized for ‘Best Valentines Gifts’, ‘Valentines Day Gifts’, and the long tail of ‘Best Valentines Day Gifts’. Some people would argue that this page is now attempting to optimize for more than one keyword phrase. Our strategy, in this example, is to primarily optimize for ‘Valentines Gifts’ and then to find the best keyword phrases to use for our variations.

Efficient permalink strategies for WordPress - geek ramblings

Written by Jo

Over the past several days, there has been an interesting discussion on the wp-testers mailing list (though, it really belonged on the wp-hackers list, but that’s beside the point) about permalink structures in WordPress. The original question came from matthijs and questioned why WordPress was storing rewrite rules for every page on his site in a database option. Further discussion revealed that this was a side-effect of his particular permalink structure, and some really good information about good and pad permalink patterns. This information could be important for sites that use non-standard URL structures, and I thought it deserved a summary.

First, let’s look at the original question and the situation that brought it about:

WordPress › Blog » Thank a Plugin Developer Day

Written by Jo

By Matt. Filed under Development.

WordPress by itself is very simple — what makes it compelling for most of its users is the wide array of plugins (and themes) available for WP. The average WordPress blog has about 5 plugins installed! Today we just passed 4,000 plugins available in our plugin directory. (Which is also embedded into everyone’s WordPress 2.7 or above.)

I declare January 28th our official “Thank a Plugin Developer” day. To celebrate take a look at the plugins you use and love, visit the author’s site, find their contact form, and drop them a note thanking them. (Or Paypal!) Look for the links in the plugin directory to “author homepage” and also to donate directly if they’ve specified a Paypal address.

Thank you to everyone who has ever written a plugin for WordPress, and here’s to the next four thousand. :)

I think I have figured out why OnlyWire wasn’t submitting my posts properly…

Written by Jo

Well here I was, writing my posts and hoping that Onlywire was to send them off to various social bookmarking sites that I had joined. But guess what? it didn’t seem to send the blog post links to them. So I tried to fiddle about with my control panel at the backend of my blogsite (c-panel) where you install various things like blog platforms and I added my username and password to my php file for the OnlyWire plugin and I hope it not only submit webpages but also my posts as well. will check if my efforts have been successful by logging into my social bookmarks and seeing if any posts have been picked up by them.Maybe you don’t have to do anything to it and just install it and insert the code button underneath your posts and submit them that way.Who knows?

Also having the onlywire button at the bottom of the post helps in submitting the post to the social bookmarks that you have signed up with.

You just point your mouse arrow over the title of the post and right click and select ‘copy link location’ so you get the right url and press ctrl/v

to insert it into the field where the url is supposed to go.Then you enter your

title tags for your submission. Then your post will be hopefully submitted to all the bookmarking sites you have joined via onlywire. It works for me.

Housing - Rent Or Buy?

Written by Jo

Real estate…. now that brings to mind lots of things… a home to live in, a place to call yours, house ownership. But for many people in New Zealand, buying a home is beginning to be totally out of reach in mine and in their lifetimes. What with the rental situation, almost half of someone’s wages ( if you are earning a wage, say $500nzd) is spent on keeping you inside and living in the place, never mind actually owning the property.

So for many people, myself included, we are going to be renting for the rest of our natural born lives because of the cost of the current rents. The older folk, the earlier generation, the ones who were lucky to own a house in their lifetime - were lucky to get the work so they could pay the mortgage and eventually own their piece of property, a house to call their own, a roof over their heads for life, if need be. Freehold is ideal as you don’t have to content with what the council might do to the land.(Like decide to create a road that cuts your house in half) As well you don’t have to pay rent for it every week, only the rates every four months or so.

Things like houses do not come easy to my generation.I would have to inherit a house from a family member or relative.Even so, it might go to some other family member in their will or something like that, a favored relative.Having a partnership might improve my chances, although what do you do if you broke up? the house would have to be sold with a mortgage not fully paid. Or house assets split up and the house sold to cover costs of legal issues. And maybe finding another house, renting again, starting all over. And even if you are lucky to own your own home, there might be family squabbles over your estate, in terms of
who gets what in the will concerning who gets the property after you have died, who gets the furniture, that sort of thing.

I think I’ll stick to renting. At least the property belongs to the landlord, not you.It would be much easier than owning it yourselves. You wouldn’t have to fix the blocked toilet that has been stuffed with crap and needs a plumber to come and fix it.You wouldn’t have to pay rates on the property,or have to insure the property against damage or natural disasters.Remember all those floods that have been happening lately in England? God, the mess they had to clean up…..

But then the landlord might increase the rent to cover costs like paying for insurance on the property. So I am basically stuck with renting.

Sponsor Update For Joe Tech’s New Media Super Contest

Written by Jo

The New Media Super Contest has 72 prizes from over 50 sponsors worth over $4,200! Take a look at the prize and sponsor list below.

Premium Sponsors

While we link out to all sponsors as a way of thanking them for adding to our prize pool, we also wanted to thank the premium sponsors, who went the extra mile to add larger prizes to the contest.

Pinky Arcade

The 5 member team at Pinky Arcade contacted us early on to ask if we’d like to have a 160GB Sony PS3 to give away in the contest. If you are a gamer, you would notice that this system isn’t released yet and it’s going to be the latest model for the widely popular, PS3. No strangers to giving away tons of free prizes, Pinky Arcade has already given away huge gift cards, consoles, and mp3 players. All these given away for simply playing some free games on the site.

BadEvan’s Gay Blog

Evan also joined up as a sponsor early on, not only by helping promote via Twitter, and other “new media”, but also by throwing in around $1,500 in advertising, reviews, and cash.

EcoPower and EcoVista

The other day, the sales team at EcoPower sent me an exciting email. They had heard about the contest and wanted to sponsor it with some unexpected, but cool, prizes. Their EcoPower and EcoVista products help you save fuel in your automobile and electricity in your home or office. The products are pretty inexpensive, too, so they offered up three of each!
